On 16th March, 1915, a Company of the 4th King’s Royal Rifle Corps battalion of 80 Brigade, 27th Division relieved the Royal Irish Fusiliers in part of the line near Dickebusch near the Mound which was in enemy hands and proceeded to strengthen the position as best as they could. The battalion continued with this dangerous work, company by company, over the next week, sustaining a number of casualties as they did so. One of these was George Harris who died from wounds on 20th March. |
